Russia and occupied Abkhazia agreed on the volume of duty-free exports of petroleum products from Russia to Abkhazia in 2025. Representatives of the Russian Ministries of Energy and Economy and representatives of the de facto Ministries of Energy and Transport, and Economy signed the agreement on December 25.

On October 30, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Economy of Abkhazia, Kristina Ozgan, and the Minister of Economic Development of Russia, Maxim Reshetnikov, signed an investment agreement. The agreement provides for the implementation of investment projects by Russian companies on the territory of Abkhazia.

With the support of Russian private investors and the Russian government, a canning factory was opened in the village of Pris of the occupied Tskhinvali region.

The Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia, Dmitry Volvach, assessed a program between the governments of Russia and the de facto Republic of Abkhazia, which provides for the harmonization of „legislations.“

On August 12, the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia hosted another meeting on the implementation of the Program for the Formation of a Common Social and Economic Space between Russia and the de facto Republic of Abkhazia. The Co-Chairs of the working group are de facto Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Economy, Kristina Ozgan, and the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia, Dmitry Volvach.

On August 1, the President of the de facto Republic of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, paid a working visit to St. Petersburg where he met with the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov. The meeting discussed cooperation in tourism, trade, and youth policy.

On May 30, the Minister of Economy of the de facto Republic of Abkhazia, Kristina Ozgan, updated the so-called President, Aslan Bzhania, on Russia's investment program.

On May 7, the Russian Deputy Minister of Finance, Alexey Sazanov, held meetings with the President, Aslan Bzhania, and the Prime Minister of the de facto Republic of Abkhazia, Alexander Ankvab.

On May 6, the de facto Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Tskhinvali region, Oleg Gagloyev, met with his Russian “counterpart,” Anton Kotyakov.

In an interview with Sputnik, Russia's Trade Representative in the de facto Republic of Abkhazia, Zalina Kobesova, spoke about the economic processes taking place in the occupied Abkhazia and the progress of economic cooperation with Russia.

On March 25, a delegation of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development visited the de facto Republic of Abkhazia. The delegation included the Deputy Director of the Department for Special Programs and Projects of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, Anton Melnik, and the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia, Dmitry Volvach.

On March 19-21, the International Travel and Hospitality Show, MITT-2024, was held in Moscow in which Abkhazia also participated.
