During his visit to Moscow, Anatoly Bibilov, the de facto President of the Tskhinvali region, met with the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Mikhail Babich (overseeing the direction of Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region), and the Deputy Chairman of the Federal Customs Service, Vladimir Ivin.

The de facto leaders of Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region, Aslan Bzhania and Anatoly Bibilov, met with Dmitry Kozak, the Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration. 

The Ministry of North Caucasus Affairs was abolished officially on September 9, 2020. The Ministry of Economic Development took over the abolished ministry’s responsibility for the development of the North Caucasus Federal District and the implementation of relevant state programs until 2025.
