Official Representative of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in the Tskhinvali Region 

Professional Career

• Evgeny Ragozin has been the Official Representative of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in the Tskhinvali region and the Advisor to the diplomatic mission of the de facto Embassy of Russia in the Tskhinvali region since 2021. He replaced Stepan Drozdov on this post.

Relations with the Tskhinvali Region

• On December 20, 2021, the de facto President of the Tskhinvali region, Anatoly Bibilov, congratulated employees of the so-called State Security Committee of the de facto republic on the Day of Workers of Security Agencies. Bibilov personally met with heads and employees of the Committee. Ragozin also participated in the event. He congratulated the Committee employees on behalf of Alexander Bortnikov, the Director of the Federal Security Service of Russia.
• On November 3, 2022, the de facto President of the Tskhinvali region, Alan Gagloyev, congratulated employees of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the de facto republic on the 19th anniversary of the establishment of the department. Ragozin also participated in the event. He congratulated employees of the Service on behalf of heads of the Federal Security Service of Russia.
• On March 2, 2023, the annual expanded collegium held at the „State Security Committee“ of the de facto republic summarized the „Committee” activities in 2022 and determined priorities for 2023. The Chairman of the „Committee“, Oleg Shiran, made a report on the geopolitical situation in the post-Soviet space, the operational situation in the region and the results of the „Committee's“ operational and service activities in 2022. Ragozin, as well as the Heads of de facto law enforcement agencies of the region and representatives of the Russian Federal Security Service and the Security Council attended the meeting.
• On April 30, 2023, the de facto republic celebrated the 14th anniversary of the establishment of the Border Division of the Russian Federal Security Service. The de facto President, Alan Gagloyev, congratulated Russian border guards. Ragozin also attended the meeting.
• On June 21, 2023, joint military exercises of the Armed Forces aimed at preventing external threats were held in Tskhinvali. In addition to de facto leaders, Russia’s representatives to the de facto republic, including Ragozin, also attended the exercises.
• On December 20, 2023, at a gala event on the occasion of “State Security Worker Day,” the de facto President of the Tskhinvali region, Alan Gagloyev, met with employees of the Border Directorate of the FSS of Russia in the Tskhinvali region. Ragozin was also present at the event. Gagloyev awarded him the “Order of Friendship.”
