At the de facto embassy of the Russian Federation in the Tskhinvali region, the Russian “ambassador,” Marat Kulakhmetov, on behalf of Vladimir Putin, awarded medals to employees of the Immortal Regiment Zhana Zaseeva, the de facto Minister of Culture of the Tskhinvali region, and Valery Bibilov, the de facto First Deputy Head of the Tskhinvali region.

According to Kulakhmetov, these two made a significant contribution in the search for the missing in the Great Patriotic War and in the course of events to mark the 75th anniversary of the war.

The Immortal Regiment is an international public-patriotic movement and was founded in 2012 in Tomsk (Russia). The movement is aimed at preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War.
