Tskhinvali Region Funding for 2020-2022 was Discussed in Moscow

On April 12, 2019, in Moscow, Russian representation of Intergovernmental Commission of Socio-Economic Cooperation between the Russian Federation and Tskhinvali Region held working session. The Session was led by Vitaly Mutko - co-chairman of the Commission, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. Sergey Cheboratov, Minister of the North Caucasus Affairs of the Russian Federation also attended the session. The following issues were discussed at the session: Investment Program supporting Tskhinvali Region Socio-Economic Development for 2020-2022, ongoing Investment Program implementation, allocating funds for Tkhinvali Region for 2019.

According to Mutko press-service under the Investment Program supporting Tskhinvali Region Socio-Economic Development for 2020-2022 is considered construction of children’s camp, kindergarten and school, roads and major repairs for maternity clinic. While discussing new Investment Program draft, Mutko stated that it is necessary to remove infrastructural restrictions impeding development of the real sector of economy, to attract private investments to construction, reconstruction and major repair of energy, public and engineering facilities.

Within the framework of the new Investment Program was planned construction of roads in Gupta-Kvaisi and Ertso-Sinaguri, construction and reconstruction of bridges, Tskhinvali maternity clinic major repairs, new kindergarten and school construction, children’s camp construction in Java Region.

At the session Cheboratov suggested to organize qualification raising training courses for Tskhinvali Region civil servants.

At the session was also discussed preparation for the 20th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission. The session will be held on April 19 in Tskhinvali.

9.1 billion rubles have been allocated from the Russian budget for implementation of 2015-2017 investment program, and 4.5 billion rubles - for 2018-2019 investment program. The control over the implementation of the program is carried out by the Directorate of Cross-Border Cooperation of the Russian Presidential Administration and the Ministry of North Caucasus Affairs .
