Aslan Bzhania Hosts a Delegation from Chechnya

The de facto President of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, hosted a delegation from the Chechen Republic. The delegation comprised the Minister of Health, Elkhan Suleimanov, and the Minister of National Policy, External Relations, Press and Information, Akhmed Dudayev. The meeting was attended by the de facto Minister of Health of Abkhazia, Eduard Butba.

Bzhania stressed the importance of Chechnya's support for Abkhazia and assistance provided during the pandemic. It was also noted that the leader of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, will visit Abkhazia. On behalf of Kadyrov, Akhmed Dudayev congratulated the Abkhaz people on the day of Russia's recognition of Abkhazia's “independence” and highlighted the “brotherly relations” between the nations.

Elkhan Suleimanov noted that according to an agreement reached between Bzhania and a Russian Duma Deputy, Adam Delimkhanov, Abkhazia will receive two more field hospitals as a gift in a short run. Bzhania proposed to host Chechen children to spend the summer in Abkhazia, which will contribute to friendship between the younger generations of Abkhazia and Chechnya.
