Future of Abkhazia Center was Launched in Moscow

On February 14, the Future of Abkhazia Center was officially opened at the “Embassy” of the de facto republic of Abkhazia in Moscow. The main function of the Center will be to support Abkhaz youth in terms of education and internship in Russia; It will enable Abkhaz youth to take advanced training courses and assist in temporary employment in Russia.

The coordinator of the center will be Edgar Gvazava. According to him, candidates will be selected on the basis of competition - at the initial stage, they should register on a web page of the “Embassy” or the “Ministry” of Foreign Affairs, fill in the form, and indicate the desired field. At the next stage, the selected candidates will be interviewed. The center will operate in parallel with Rossotrudnichestvo exchange programs.

Inal Ardzinba, the de facto Minister of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia, has already discussed various issues related to the center with heads of Russia's leading universities, including Anatoly Torkunov (Rector of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations), Nikita Anisimov (Rector of the Higher School of Economics of the Research University), Alexander Yakovenko (Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation) and Stanislav Prokofiev (Rector of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation). The parties agreed to closely cooperate and define an action plan.
