Lessons of Courage which are dedicated to the Defender of the Fatherland Day are being held at schools of the Tskhinvali region. The lesson is aimed at raising the military-patriotic spirit among the young generation. Classes will last a week.

The project invites veterans and military personnel to schools to brief schoolchildren about the specifics of military service and the importance of patriotism. Servicemen of the 4th military base of the Russian Federation in the Tskhinvali region talked about the history of the mentioned date, the military success of Russia, and the establishment of the 4th military base. During the event, a thematic film was also screened.

The Tskhinvali region celebrates the Defender of the Fatherland Day on February 23. This day commemorates the memory of soldiers who served in the Soviet Army during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). Defenders of the Fatherland are also considered those who fought for the “independence” of so-called South Ossetia in the 90s of the last century.
