On November 9, within the framework of his working visit to Moscow, the President of the de facto Republic of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, met with the Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Rashid Nurgaliyev. Nurgaliyev supervises the occupied regions of Georgia in the Security Council.

Cooperation between Russia and the de facto republic in the field of security and energy was discussed at the meeting which was also attended by the de facto Prime Minister, Alexander Ankvab. Bzhania left for a working visit to Moscow on November 7.
