On December 18, the Chairman of the Russian State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, met with the chairmen of the so-called parliaments of Belarus, Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region. The “chairman” Lasha Ashuba represented the so-called parliament of Abkhazia, and Alan Alborov represented the Tskhinvali region. The meeting discussed “interparliamentary” cooperation and socio-economic issues.

Prior to the meeting, on December 12, a delegation of the de facto parliament of Abkhazia, at the invitation of Volodin, took part in the 4th International Conference in Moscow - The role of interaction between factions of political parties and blocs in inter-parliamentary cooperation of the CIS countries.
