According to Dmitry Fedotov, the Head of the representative office of the Federal Agency for CIS States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Affairs (Russian House) in the occupied Abkhazia, a Russian language learning center was opened in Gali.

At the initiative of the agency, the network of centers was launched in November 2023. The first center was opened in Kant, Kyrgyzstan. As planned, a total of 31 similar centers will be opened in 16 countries by the end of the year.

In addition to Gali, a similar center was also opened in Sokhumi. The center is equipped with modern equipment, new furniture, educational literature and methodical materials, and a piano. Both children and adults can use the center.

In Gali, where mostly ethnic Georgians live, special importance is attached to the promotion of the Russian language. Georgian-language schools are no longer functioning in the occupied Gali region. Consequently, the Georgian population receives education in Russian.
