According to de facto National Bank of Abkhazia, Abkhazian payment system „АПРА“ started bank card service of Russian payment system „Мир“. „Мир“is Russian payment system operating in RUB. At the next stage „АПРА“ card service will be available to those areas where „Мир“ System operates.

Hence, „Мир“ card holders will be able to withdraw money from ATMs and banks and use cards in merchants on the territory of Abkhazia.

On July 11, 2018, agreement was signed on interaction of payment systems between Russia and Abkhazia, aiming at organizing bank cards interservice.

The basis of creation of so-called national payment system of Abkhazia was the law adopted on November 14, 2011, by de facto parliament of Abkhazia.By the end of 2012 so-called Bank of Abkhazia has started operation of the National Payment System “АПРА“.
