On March 2, 2020, de facto Acting President of Abkhazia Valery Bganba had a phone conversation with the Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Rashid Nurgaliyev.

At the Security Council Nurgaliyev is curator to Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali Region. The topic of the conversation was emergency hospitalization of Aslan Bzhania, candidates for the illegitimate presidential elections in Abkhazia. Bganba asked the Russian side, the Ministry of Health and law enforcement Agencies, to provide assistance in conducting a preliminary investigation of the circumstances related to the hospitalization of Aslan Bzhania.

Bzhania is an opposition candidate and has a great chance to win the early illegitimate presidential election.
