On September 10, 2019, Grigory Karasin, State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, was dismissed under the decree of the President of Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. On August 23, Karasin turned 70 and under the law could no longer hold office in executive branch. In August Putin awarded Karasin with the 3rd class order „For Merit to the Fatherland“.
