The Tskhinvali region celebrates the 13th anniversary of the establishment of the 4th military base of the Russian Federation in the region.

During the ceremony, the Acting Commander of the Base, Rajab Aliyev (reportedly, the Commander of the base, Roman Viazovsky, is on vacation due to family reasons), addressed the audience.

During the event, distinguished military personnel were rewarded, a reconnaissance battalion demonstrated exercises, a military orchestra gave a concert and a special excursion was organized for the attendees to visit living residences of the base servicemen and their families. An exhibition of weapons and ammunition took also place.

The event was attended by leaders of the base, military personnel and their families, veterans, de facto local government officials, journalists and others.
