On May 15-16, the President of the de facto republic of the Tskhinvali region, Alan Gagloyev, paid a visit to the Republic of Chechnya to celebrate the Days of Ossetian Culture.

During his stay in Chechnya, Gagloyev visited the grave of Akhmad Kadyrov, Ramzan Kadyrov’s (leader of the republic) father. The de facto President was met by the Chairman of the Council of Alims of the North Caucasus, the oldest of the Kadyrov family - Khozh-Akhmed Kadyrov. In addition, Gagloyev also visited the Museum of Akhmad Kadyrov.

Gagloyev's visit to the Russian Special Forces University which was founded on the initiative of Ramzan Kadyrov, is worth of mentioning. The de facto President expressed great interest in the said institution. He also met with Chechen fighters who were preparing to participate in the Russian aggression in Ukraine. Gagloyev noted that he is considering giving Ossetian fighters the opportunity to improve their qualifications at the Chechnyan university.

The Days of Ossetian Culture was ended with a solemn concert, which Gagloyev attended together with Kadyrov. In his speech, Kadyrov thanked Gagloyev for visiting Chechnya and noted the brotherhood of Ossetian and Chechen peoples. At the end of the ceremony, Kadyrov awarded Gagloyev with the medal – “100 years since the establishment of the Republic of Chechnya.” The medal “for service to the Republic of Chechnya” was awarded to the de facto Minister of Culture, Rada Dzagoeva. Within the framework of the visit, Dzagoeva also met with the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Chechnya, Kadyrov's daughter - Aishat Kadyrova.

It should be noted that Kadyrov also gave monetary awards to two Ossetian ensembles which came to Chechnya within the framework of the Days of Ossetian Culture. As a gift, the Kosta Khetagurov State Drama Theater received RUB 1 million, and the Galaev State Ensemble - RUB 2 million.

Gagloyev was seen off by Kadyrov himself. This was the first visit of the de facto President to the Republic of Chechnya.
