On December 5, the the representation office of the Federal Agency for the CIS, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Affairs in Abkhazia (“Russian House”) in the occupied Tskhinvali region, Sergey Komissarov, met with Svetlana Kotaeva, the Head of the Rossy society of Russian compatriots.

This is Komissarov's second meeting with Kotaeva. During their first meeting which took place on November 14, Kotaeva shared her impressions with Komissarov and spoke about the II Assembly of the World Federation of Russian-Speaking Women. The parties also agreed to hold an event on the patriotic theme. It should be noted that Kotaeva is a well-known public figure in the region.

This time, Kotaeva attended the 10th regional conference of Russian compatriots living in the Middle East, which was held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. Kotaeva also delivered a speech at the conference.

During the meeting with Komissarov, Kotaeva noted that there is no impediment to the promotion of the Russian language in the region. “The legacy left by our ancestors has not been forgotten,” Kotaeva said at the meeting and presented to Komissarov her projects financed by the Russian House. The main projects is aimed at strengthening the bonds of “fathers and sons” by “propagation of the values of the Russian language.”
