The Federal Agency for CIS States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Affairs (Russian House) handed over 7,000 textbooks to the “State University of South Ossetia.”

The Films in the Open Air project was officially launched on the Theatre Square in Tskhinvali. The organizer of the event was the department of culture, youth and sports of the de facto City Hall.

Tskhinvali hosted various events within the framework of the Synthesis of Arts Russian project. The events were organized by the North Ossetian branch of the Russian Folklore Union, and supported by the Ministry of Culture of Russia.

The Abkhazian Culture Festival was held at the Moscow Road Technical Institute (MADI). The program included Abkhaz dances, songs, movies, and poems, as well as traditional food.

Tamerlan Dzurtsov, the Artistic Director of the K. Khetagurov State Theater of the Tskhinvali region, was awarded a diploma of the Guild of Russian Playwrights. The diploma was presented to Mr. Dzurtsov by the General Director of the Guild, Yuri Butunin, at the Bulamarg Literary Award Ceremony in Moscow.

The state ensemble of Abkhazian national dance Caucasus participated in the XI International Festival of National cultures - the Sinegorye. The festival was held in the city of Satka, Chelyabinsk Oblast.

The de facto Prime Minister of Abkhazia, Alexander Ankvab, hosted a delegation of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture. The delegation was headed by Roman Nekrasov, the Director of the Department of Crop Production, Mechanization, Chemicalization and Plant Protection of the Ministry.

The Tskhinvali region received five combine harvesters manufactured by the Rostselmash Russian company. Four of them were purchased with a loan from the de facto Ministry of Agriculture of the Tskhinvali region, and one unit was transferred by Russian colleagues within the framework of a bilateral agreement with Russia. 

The Tskhinvali region received 40 tons of potato seeds under an agreement with the Russian Ministry of Agriculture. According to the de facto Minister of Agriculture, Alan Margiev, 90% of the potato seeds were donated to farmers in the Java region.

As planned, up to 5,000 hectares of nut plantations will be chemically treated in Gali. According to a representative of the de facto Ministry of Agriculture, Vladimir Geria, the works are mainly carried out in the Gali district, which is rich in nuts.

Two Abkhazian ensembles took part in the Future of Russia festival-competition.

On April 27, the de facto State Customs Committee of Abkhazia discussed the simplification of strawberry export to Russia. According to reports, the volume of exports will increase at least three times this year. Jamal Tseiba, the Head of the Main Department of Customs Enforcement, noted that the issue of simplification of customs control is actively worked on every year.

The K. Khetagurov “State” Drama Theatre of Tskhinvali region signed a cooperation agreement with the Moscow Higher School of Performing Arts.

Alan Margiev, the new de facto Minister of Agriculture of the Tskhinvali region, spoke about priorities for the agricultural sector.
