A military hospital deployed in Abkhazia completed the operation. The multi-disciplinary mobile hospital was sent by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. It was placed in the city of Sokhumi on August 18.

Doctors are taking measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection and seasonal illnesses at the 4th military base of the Russian Federation in the Tskhinvali region. For this purpose, they take the temperature of military servicemen and civilian personnel at checkpoints, as well as give them vitamins to improve their immunity.

On the first day, the hospital received 15 patients infected with the coronavirus. The mobile hospital is equipped with modern equipment and can accommodate 100 patients. It can accommodate additional 50 people.

The Russian Federation sent a multi-disciplinary mobile hospital to Abkhazia to increase the latter’s bed capacity. The mobile hospital accommodates 100 patients.

The number of people infected with the coronavirus is constantly increasing in Abkhazia. As of July 22, a total of over 20,000 confirmed cases of infection were reported and the death toll reached - 284. Therefore, Russia will send a multi disciplinary mobile hospital with 150 beds to Abkhazia in the near future. At this point, the deployment location of the hospital is being discussed.

The number of people wishing to get vaccinated with the Russian vaccine against the coronavirus significantly increased in the Tskhinvali region. As of July 20, a total of 702 people received the first component of the Sputnik V, and 308 received both components of the vaccine.

The process of revaccination started at the 7th military base of the Russian Federation in Abkhazia. The revaccination refers to Russian servicemen, their families and the base civilian personnel who received the first dose of the vaccine before January 1 this year.

A joint program of the Russian Federation and the de facto republic of Abkhazia will start on June 7. The program will determine the immune status of “citizens” of Abkhazia. Under the program, 3,000 antigen tests will be performed to identify how many people have developed antibodies in their blood against the Coronavirus. The program will cover all regions of Abkhazia.
