De-facto president of the Tskhinvali Region briefed members of de facto government on the details of his meeting with the Russian President Vladimir Putin. Bibilov and Putin meeting was held in the Kremlin on March 13, 2020.

On February 15, 2020, by the decree of the government of the Russian Federation, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin was appointed co-chair of the intergovernmental committee on socio-economic cooperation with Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali Region. 

In the new government of the Russian Federation, Marat Khusnullin, Deputy Prime Minister, will be curator to Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali Region. Khusnullin is responsible for socio-economic cooperation with Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali Region.
