The “Aambassador” of the de facto republic of Abkhazia to Russia, Alkhas Kvitsinia, presented the credentials to the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, in the Kremlin.

On March 16, 2023, the de facto President of the Russian-occupied Tskhinvali region, Alan Gagloyev, met with the Russian President, Vladimir Putin. This was his first meeting with Putin as a president-elected in 2022. The meeting was planned in February; however, the day before the meeting, Gagloyev was tested positive for coronavirus and the meeting was postponed. Gagloyev was often criticized by his opponents for taking so long to meet with the Russian leader.

Leonid Dzapshba, the Chairman of the Akzaara Republican political party, on behalf of the party, expressed strong solidarity for the Public Headquarters in support of the Russian President, Vladimir Putin.

The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, congratulated Aslan Bzhania's wife Aelita Akhiba on International Women's Day, the press service of the de facto President of Abkhazia reported.

In Abkhazia, a total of 15 organizations joined the public headquarters in support of the Russian President, Vladimir Putin.

On November 17, 2020, during a 2-hour pressconference, the de facto President of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, also spoke about the details of his meeting with the Russian President. The Russian President, Vladimer Putin, personally hosted Bzhania in Sochi on November 12.

The de facto President of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, met with the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, in Sochi. According to the official information, the current state and prospects of bilateral trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation, implementation of the agreement on Alliance and Strategic Partnership and the foreign policy coordination were discussed at the meeting.

On July 3, 2020, at an online press-conference organized by news agency „Interfax“, de facto president of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania stated that on June 24, while his visit in Moscow, he invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to Abkhazia to attend the Monument opening to the Pilots killed in WWII.

On June 24, 2020, in Moscow, de facto President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania and de facto President of the Tskhinvali Region Anatoly Bibilov  participated in the parade dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the victory in WWII. During the visit Bzhania and Bibilov also met with the Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin Palace.

De-facto president of the Tskhinvali Region briefed members of de facto government on the details of his meeting with the Russian President Vladimir Putin. Bibilov and Putin meeting was held in the Kremlin on March 13, 2020.

On March 13, 2020, de facto President of the Tskhinvali Region Anatoly Bibilov met with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin, in Moscow. At the meeting, Putin positively assessed bilateral relations.

On September 10, 2019, Vladimir Putin, President of Russian Federation, congratulated Raul Khajimba, acting de facto President, on winning illegitimate elections in Abkhazia. 

On August 6, 2019, in Sochi, Raul Khajimba, de facto President of Abkhazia, met with Vladimir Putin, President of Russian Federation, and discussed prospects for enhancing joint socio-economic cooperation.

In Moscow, on March 6, 2019 de facto President of Tskhinvali Region Anatoly Bibilov met with the president of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. According to the Kremlin, the parties discussed current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, primarily in the socio-economic direction.
