On July 6, Committee on political and security issues of OSCE parliamentary assembly adopted resolution, calling on Russia to revoke Abkhazia and Tskhinvali Region independence recognition. Aleksey Dvinianin, Russian Federation “ambassador“ to Abkhazia, evaluated the resolution as politicized document.

Up to 70 recruits took an oath at the 7th military base of Russian Federation in Abkhazia. Recruits are from different regions of Russia, including Republics of Mordovia and Mari El, Vladimit Oblast and Novosibirsk Oblast.

Russian Federation “embassy“ representatives marked day of family, love and fidelity in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali Region. In Russia, this day is celebrated annually on July 8 and is dedicated to the memory of saints Duke Peter and his spouse – Fevronia. 

Anton Melnik, Director of International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of North Caucasus Affairs of Russian Federation, paid three day working visit to Tskhinvali Region in order to inspect ongoing construction activities under the Investment Program.

A month of military service security has started at the 7th military base of Russia in Abkhazia. More than 3000 servicemen will enhance knowledge and study different instructions, measures of fire and electrical safety, standards of sanitary and epidemiology.

Tamaz Tsakhnakia, de facto Minister of Healthcare, paid working visit to Moscow. The visit aim was to enhance cooperation in the field of healthcare. Number of meetings were held at the Ministry of Healthcare of Russian Federation and at different medical centers.

The 3rd  anniversary of signing agreement on “Formation and operation of Joint Information-Coordination Center of Internal Affairs bodies“ was celebrated in Tskhinvali Region. The agreement was signed on July 4, 2016, by Igor Zubov, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Russian Federation, and Akhsar Lavoev, de facto Minister of Internal Affairs.

Group of sappers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russian Federation, specialists of  „Leader“- the center of the Ministry for conducting especially risky rescue operations, is visiting Tskhinvali Region. This is their 4th visit to Tskhinvali Region. According to the center representative totally 22.83 hectares of the territory have been cleared and 208 unexploded ammunition found. As planned specialists are to complete clearing of adjacent heights to Dzari settlement by July 15.

On July 1-3, 2019, in Moscow, the 2nd International Forum – “Development of Parliamentarism“ was held. De facto MPs of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali Region attended the forum. Valery Kvarchia, de facto Parliament Speaker of Abkhazia and Alan Tadtaev recently appointed de facto Parliament Speaker of Tskhinvali Region participated in the event.

22 enrolees from Tskhinvali Region will study at the institutions of the MoIA of Russian Federation. Out of 35 applicants 22 were selected. Future students have gone through special inspection of Law Enforcement Agencies of Tskhinvali Region as well as passed exams in various subjects, including exam of Russian language.

Military servicemen of Russian Federation in Abkhazia utilized about 2 million ammunition in 6 months while combat trainings. Compared to the same period of previous year ammunition spent is increased by 15%. Shootings were performed using ammunition of staff and military equipment as well.

Servicemen of different units of the military base successfully completed planned tasks in combat training. In mountainous, wooded and coastal areas of the polygons of Gudauta, Tsebelda, Nagvalou, servicemen exercised in shooting from different ammunition, including the latest armoured carrier (BTR-82AM), tanks (T-72B3) and anti-tank grenade launchers (RPG-7).

Servicemen of Russia and Tskhinvali Region conducted joint exercises at Dzartsemi polygon, Tskhinvali Region. More than 1200 servicemen exercised in destroying of conditional enemy command posts. Up to 200 units of ammunition and military techniques were involved in exercises.

In June 2019, compared to previous month, number of military exercises conducted in occupied regions of Georgia has been increased. Kremlin high-rank official visited Tskhinvali Region during illegitimate parliamentary elections. In addition to important visits from Russia, month of June was loaded with anniversary events in Tskhinvali and Sokhumi.
