According to existing information, Aleksey Filatov, Head of the Directorate of the Cross-Border Cooperation of Russian Federation, visited Tskhinvali to attend illegitimate parliamentary elections planned on June 9. Filatov’s visit was not officially planned. About Filatov's visit was made known from the photo published on June 7 on Soslan Kokoev’s, de facto advisor to President of Tskhinvali Region, Facebook page, where Filatov was also identified.

On June 6, 2019, Russian language day and the 220th anniversary of the birth of the Russian famous poet Alexander Pushkin was marked in Tskhinvali. In Tskhinvali, solemn event is organized by the Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature and is held every year.

From June 2, Abkhazian inter-agency delegation started meetings with Russian representatives on maritime traffic restoration between Abkhazia and Russia. De facto Minister of Defence of Tskhinvali Region started enrolment of applicants wishing to study in higher educational institutions of Russian Federation. Enrolment completion date is June 5. Applicants are to go through several stages of competition. The commission, headed by General-Major Viktor Fedorov, Chief of General Staff of de facto Ministry of Defence of Tskhinvali Region, will select the candidates.

Military engineers are assembling at Dzartsemi Polygon of the 4th military base of Russian Federation. Engineers together with motorized infantry divisions and cadaver dogs are to conduct engineer reconnaissance of roads.
