On October 13, the de facto President of the Tskhinvali region, Alan Gagloyev, held a meeting with a delegation of the Russian Federation Council. The head of the Russian delegation was a member of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, Sergei Tsekov. The Russian “Ambassador” to the region, Marat Kulakhmetov, also participated in the meeting.

The Ministry of Justice of the de facto republic and the Russian Federal Bailiffs Service adopted a memorandum which was signed by the de facto Minister of Justice, Oleg Gagloyev, and the Director of the Federal Bailiffs Service and the Chief Bailiff of Russia, Dmitry Aristov. The de facto President, Alan Gagloyev, and the Russian “Ambassador” to the region, Marat Kulakhmetov, also attended the solemn ceremony.

The Tskhinvali region marked the 29th anniversary of the start of the “peacekeeping” operation. As part of the event the Defenders to the Fatherland memorial complex was decorated with flowers. The President of the region, Anatoly Bibilov, the Russian Ambassador, Marat Kulakhmetov, as well as representatives of de facto ministries and others attended the celebration.

June 12 marks Russia's Independence Day. This date has been celebrated in the Tskhinvali region as one of the “state” holidays since 2005. The de facto President, Anatoly Bibilov, congratulated the Russian President and other government officials on the national holiday. In the evening, Bibilov, the Russian “Ambassador,” Marat Kulakhmetov, and other political and public figures attended a solemn reception. “I wish to our Motherland Russia to be a strong state,” Bibilov said.

Film festival Хрустальный источникъ was held in Tskhinvali on Russia Day. The famous Russian actress, Nonna Grishaeva, and the President of the film festival, Euclid Kurdzidis, visited the region within the framework of the festival. The event was organized by the Rossotrudnichestvo office, the “Ministry” of Culture and the Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots in the Tskhinvali region.

An exhibition dedicated to Russia Day was held in Tskhinvali. The exhibition audience viewed the works of members of the Tskhinval 5 Young Artists' Union. The exhibition will last until the end of the month. The exhibition is organized by the de facto Ministry of Culture and the Rossotrudnichestvo office in the Tskhinvali region.

On June 4, Tskhinvali celebrated the International Day of the Russian Language and the 222nd anniversary of the birth of the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. The ceremony was held in Pushkin Square. It was attended by representatives of the de facto government and the Russian “embassy,” teachers, students, and schoolchildren. Among those present were Sergey Skvortsov, the Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in the Tskhinvali region, and Marat Kulakhmetov, Russia's Ambassador to the region.

On May 21, the Memorial Complex to the Defenders of the Fatherland was opened in Tskhinvali.

On February 15, the Tskhinvali region commemorated the day of Internationalist Soldiers.  On this day, 32 years ago, the Soviet troops withdrew from Afghanistan.

At the de facto embassy of the Russian Federation in the Tskhinvali region, the Russian “ambassador,” Marat Kulakhmetov, on behalf of Vladimir Putin, awarded medals to employees of the Immortal Regiment Zhana Zaseeva, the de facto Minister of Culture of the Tskhinvali region, and Valery Bibilov, the de facto First Deputy Head of the Tskhinvali region.

On December 28, the “embassy” of the Russian Federation orginized a New Year party for children in the Tskhinvali region.

On December 4, a museum of Ethnography and Local Lore was opened at the A. Tibilov State University of the Tskhinvali region.

On November 23, the Day of Courage and National Unity, flowers were laid at the memorial of heroes in Tskhinvali. The number of participants was limited due to the coronavirus epidemic.

On October 28, the Russkiy Mir Foundation opened a Russian center in Tskhinvali.

On June 12, the state holiday of the Russian Federation - „Russia Day“ was celebrated in Tskhinvali. The event was started with laying flowers at the „Eternal Flame Memorial“ in the Alley of Glory.
