Raul Khajimba, de facto president of Abkhazia, after the winning illegitimate presidential elections, paid first visit to the Republic of Adygea. During the one-day visit, Khajimba met with Murat Kumpilov, Head of the Republic and took part in a solemn event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Aslan Jamirov, the first President of Adygea.

On October 9, 2019, in Abkhazia, inauguration of Raul Khajimba, de facto President, was held. Apart of representatives of local de facto government, representatives of Russia also participated in the solemn ceremony.

Raul Khajimba, de facto President of Abkhazia, hosted Alexandr Yushenko, MP of the State Duma of Russian Federation, member of Communist Party. Khajimba thanked Russian MP for his support to Abkhazia and efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

On August 6, 2019, in Sochi, Raul Khajimba, de facto President of Abkhazia, met with Vladimir Putin, President of Russian Federation, and discussed prospects for enhancing joint socio-economic cooperation.
