On February 28, 2020, in Moscow, de facto President of the Tskhinvali Region Anatoly Bibilov met with the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kozak.
On October 9, 2019, in Abkhazia, inauguration of Raul Khajimba, de facto President, was held. Apart of representatives of local de facto government, representatives of Russia also participated in the solemn ceremony.
Valeri Bganba, de facto Prime Minister of Abkhazia, participated in the plenary session of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum-2019. The forum was opened by the President of Russia. Within the Forum framework, Bganba met with the members of Russian Government: Vitaly Mutko, Deputy Chairman, Alexander Novak, Minister of Energy and Alexander Beglov, acting Governor of St. Petersburg.
On May 29, 2019, in Moscow was held meeting of Co-Chairs of Inter-Governmental Committee on Socio-Economic Cooperation between Russian Federation and de facto republic of Abkhazia. At the meeting was discussed implementation of investment program promoting socio-economic development of de facto Republic of Abkhazia for 2017-2019. At the meeting was also discussed agenda for Inter-Governmental Committee next meeting and investment program issue.
On May 27-28, 2019, Anatoly Bibilov, de facto President of Tskhinvali Region, visited Moscow. Part of his working visit was to meet with Sergey Shoygu, Minister of Defence of Russian Federation.
On April 19, 2019, the 20th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on social-economic cooperation between Russian Federation and Tskhinvali Region was held in Tskhinvali. The Investment Program supporting social-economic development of Tskhinvali Region for 2020-2022 was approved at the meeting.
On April 12, 2019, in Moscow, Russian representation of Intergovernmental Commission of Socio-Economic Cooperation between the Russian Federation and Tskhinvali Region held working session. The Session was led by Vitaly Mutko - co-chairman of the Commission, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. Sergey Cheboratov, Minister of the North Caucasus Affairs of the Russian Federation also attended the session. The following issues were discussed at the session: Investment Program supporting Tskhinvali Region Socio-Economic Development for 2020-2022, ongoing Investment Program implementation, allocating funds for Tkhinvali Region for 2019.
On March 18, 2019, Tskhinvali Region hosted event in memory of “Eredvi Tragedy“. (According to Osetian party, on March 18, 1991, near village Eredvi, armed Georgians stopped the bus driving 25 ethnic Ossetian citizens from village Dmenisi to Tskhinvali. 12 men were tortured and buried alive). Tskhinvali Region de facto president Anatoly Bibilov and the “Ambassador“ of Russian Federation in Tskhinvali Region Marat Kulakhmetov attended the event.
