A delegation of the Russian Federation visited Tskhinvali before the illegitimate presidential elections scheduled for April 10. The delegation comprises: the Head of North Ossetia, Sergey Menyaylo, the Head of the Kabardino-Balkaria Republic, Kazbek Kokov, a senator of the Russian Federation, Sergey Karelin, as well as representatives of the Russian State Duma and the Council of the Russian Federation.

Delegations from Russia, the Republic of North Ossetia - Alanya, the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics visited Tskhinvali.

The de facto President of the Tskhinvali region, Anatoly Bibilov, met with the Russian Ombudsman, Tatyana Moskalkova. The meeting was also attended by the Commissioner for Human Rights under the President of the Republic of South Ossetia, Inal Tasoev, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Russian Federation, Znaur Gassiev.

The parliament of North Ossetian elected Sergey Menyaylo by secret ballot as the Head of the region. Manyaylo was among three candidates nominated by Vladimer Putin. He has been the Acting Head of the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania since April.

The de facto President of the Tskhinvali region, Anatoly Bibilov, and the Head of North Ossetia, Sergey Menyaylo, laid flowers at the City of Angels memorial complex in memory of the victims of the Beslan tragedy.

Anatoly Bibilov, the de facto President of the Tskhinvali region, participated in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) which was held on June 2-5. Bibilov was accompanied by the de facto Prime Minister, Gennady Bekoev, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development, Dzambolat Tadtaev, the Finance Minister, Aza Khabalova and the Tskhinvali Region “Ambassador” to Russia, Znaur Gasiev.

At the 2020 summary session of the de facto Defense Ministry, the "president" of the Tskhinvali region, Anatoly Bibilov, called on the agency to work more closely with the Russian Federation.

During his visit to Moscow, Anatoly Bibilov, the de facto President of the Tskhinvali region, met with the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Mikhail Babich (overseeing the direction of Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region), and the Deputy Chairman of the Federal Customs Service, Vladimir Ivin.

The de Facto President of the Tskhinvali region, Anatoly Bibilov, has left for the Russian Federation on a working visit. According to a spokesman of the de facto president, Bibilov has planned meetings with high-ranking Russian officials.

The de facto Leader of the Tskhinvali region, Anatoly Bibilov paid a working visit to Russia on September 7.

The de facto leaders of Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region, Aslan Bzhania and Anatoly Bibilov, met with Dmitry Kozak, the Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration. 

On June 24, 2020, in Moscow, de facto President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania and de facto President of the Tskhinvali Region Anatoly Bibilov  participated in the parade dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the victory in WWII. During the visit Bzhania and Bibilov also met with the Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin Palace.

On March 13, 2020, de facto President of the Tskhinvali Region Anatoly Bibilov met with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin, in Moscow. At the meeting, Putin positively assessed bilateral relations.

Anatoly Bibilov, de facto President of Tskhinvali Region, attended planned joint command-staff exercises of Ossetian and Russian servicemen. Reservists participated in this kind of exercises for the first time.

During his visit to Crimea occupied by the Russian Federation, Anatoly Bibilov, de facto President of Tskhinvali Region, discussed possibility of implementing joint projects with de facto Governor of Sevastopol.
